Answer a few questions about your system. Each result cites a source, and where official docs state no anti-cheat-specific requirement the result says so rather than guessing.

  • Anti-cheat type Note

Look the game up on the tracker first. Its status says whether the developer enabled Linux support.

  • GPU driver Note

Run vulkaninfo --summary. If it lists no GPU, Proton's Direct3D translation cannot work.

DXVK driver support wiki: it lists the minimum driver versions, which we do not copy here
  • Display session Note

Valve's docs and the sources we track state no anti-cheat requirement for Wayland versus X11. If one game fails only in one session, report it with the log.

  • Kernel version Note

Enter the output of uname -r to check it.

  • vm.max_map_count Note

Enter the output of sysctl vm.max_map_count to check it.
